The Indonesian end of Australia’s live cattle export supply chain has faced the challenge of shifting away from traditional methods of slaughtering cattle to those meeting Australian regulations. This is the story of an abattoir in Bandar Lampung called Z-Beef and its staff, which shows how it can be done while still meeting local religious requirements and remaining economically viable.

This video was an entry in the Transparency Challenge run by LiveCorp in the lead up to the LIVEXchange 2019 conference. The competition encouraged participants in the livestock export supply chain to produce short videos to showcase continuous improvement in areas such as animal welfare.
