One of LiveCorp’s strategic objectives is to improve supply chain efficiencies and regulatory performance throughout the livestock export process.
This can be achieved through research and development into topics such as better breeding, selection and preparation of cattle, sheep and goats; improvements to roads and ports; and new technology. Reducing red tape, improving the collection of information, and having better systems available to keep track of livestock once they reach other countries are all in the interests of the industry, the regulator and the community.
LiveCorp meets regularly with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry informally, and as a member of various working groups and committees, to discuss current and proposed regulations. It also provides technical advice in the form of submissions to various reviews, using research findings and its understanding of the industry to present a factual assessment of the topic at hand.
