The livestock export industry has a complex relationship with the community.
While there is strong recognition of its contribution to the Australian economy and nutrition overseas, there is also concern over animal welfare, with some people very vocal in their opposition to the trade. This can put pressure on decision-making by politicians and regulators.
The livestock export industry has commissioned a three-year research program to identify the issues that matter to the Australian community, and start a fresh conversation about how it’s responding to those concerns.
This infographic highlights the findings of the first in a series of annual surveys to determine the key issues in community attitudes towards the Australian livestock export industry.
